Free Basics (FFB) in not a charity but a well planned business model to exploit
India.FFB is the part of digital colonization by west though the internet route
as British had made through sea routes.
Facebook will be benefited more and more as its free basics user will increase and this will happen in these ways-
Firstly, company will make money by selling users information such as-mobile number,email-id,etc. to advertising companies.
Secondly, partner companies related to healthcare, education, jobs, etc.,whose websites will be listed for free access by mobile will be charged.
Thirdly, monopoly over the users privacy will be entertained by monitoring contents. Because company has not restriction, no law not to do so.
As far as the benefit of the India is concerned, definitely FBB may increase the internet penetration in the county and revolutionize Digital India Program but will rural illiterate users will enjoy anything more than just uploading or downloading
multimedia contents?
The electricity is not present in thousands of village of the country for battery
recharge, how long will they be able to use internet?
Low price internet is the better option instead of FBB. Central Government should work for literacy, electricity and to increase the income of people in place of distributing free lollipop like FBB.
